Panes de pollo

Panes de pollo or panes con pavo( pan con chumpe) is a typical Salvadoran sandwich. Its name literally means “chicken/turkey bread”.

Panes de pollo is made with  unique shredded chicken of  rotisserie chiken or left over chicken, slices  of  vegetables like cabbage, cucumbers, radishes and onions,  drips with mixing sauce of mayonnaise , mustard and local spicy sauce  made with tomato, pepper, garlic and other spices like chile guaque, chile ciruela, achiote. The bread for the the is bolillo rolls, or french rolls,

Pan con pollo is a classic Salvadoreños dish, especially during the holidays and special occasions, but it’s also served at street tables by families in El Salvador.
