Mshikaki

The meat skewers  are most often enjoyed after dusk, when the vendors start to sell mshikaki at their stalls, and it is said to taste even better when accompanied by sauces or dips on the side. Mshikaki is one the most favourite Kenyan delicacies, an ubiquitous Zanzibarian snack food, often seen grilling in alleyways of an afternoon.

It is a popular Swahili traditional cuisine from the Kenyan coast. In Tanzania and Uganda the dish is also popular and aspect of traditional diet.

It serves best with warm roasted vegetables and sometimes with a side of soft ugali that is a type of maize or cassava flour porridge made in Africa.
