Egyptian fatteh  is favorite Egyptian food  made  with  spiced boiled lamb/beef served over a bed of rice and toasted pita bread then served with garlicky warm garlic tomato sauce. This is a traditional Egyptian food to celebrate any occasion, especially in Eidul Adha when lamb recipes are in full swing like these lamb chops.

Egyptians prepare  this fatta  as a feast meal. It is prepared on special occasions in the family, such as to celebrate a woman's first pregnancy or for an Iftar during Ramadan.  Fattah is also served at weddings, social gatherings,  new baby. Fattah is very popular in the middle east with different names and ingredients like chicken shawarma fatteh or this eggplant fatteh.

Fatteh (Arabic: فتّة‎ meaning crushed or crumbs, also romanized as fette, fetté, fatta or fattah.  Fatteh dishes include a wide variety of regional and local variations, some of which also have their own distinct names.
