Ingredients for Shaptra could be merely is a simple gravy dish with the flavour of chili and ginger. Or it can cooked with sliced beef, mutton, yak tossed and sauteed with homemade tomato paste and chilli sauce, onions, bell peppers, ginger, garlic and cilantro. Other typical vegetables for the dish are celery, carrots and fresh green chili.

The dish is usually served with Tingmo bread (Tibetan steamed buns) but you can have it with rotis or rice as well.
