Phulauri

Phulauri is an East - Indian dish made with  soaked masoor dal (split lentils) or chana dal (yellow split chickpeas).It  is a very polular snack in Suriname. Many variants of Phulauris exist across the region and can be made with other vegetables like boiled potatoes according to taste.

The phulauri is further rolled into marble-sized pieces and fried in boiling oil. This snack should preferably be eaten warm and be served with ketchup. These delicious balls are not complete without some hot sauce added ingredients like cayenne -, jalapeño - or chili peppers or flaming hot potato chutney.
