Romanian and Moldavian breaded meat patties or hamburgers are known as parjoale and can be made from beef, pork, lamb, or a mixture of meats.

Ground meat patties, meatballs, meat croquettes, and hamburgers exist in one form or another in every type of cuisine. In Romania, they are called parjoale, plural form of pârjoală, and chiftele. Those meat patties are an easy solution for a quick meal. The mixture also has bread crumbs, spices, garlic, and eggs. In some regions of Romania, a shredded potato is also added.
