Carne Guisada (Latin beef stew)

Many cultures have different versions of stewed beef and this carne guisada is a Mexican style version. The carne guisada is a beef stew that is native to many parts of Latin America. It translates to “stewed meat”, and typically refer to tougher cuts of beef that are cooked  in a flavorful broth until it’s fork tender.  

And don’t mix up carne asada with this carne guisada ! Authentic carne asada is grilled and carne guisada is stewed. When it cooked, this stewed beef has very little broth and what sauce there is is thickened so that it sticks to the meat!
